Thunder in the desert
I originally wrote the note below when I created this
blog. I had big expectations and I am
humbled now by how little I have done, both here and in my life in
general. I am thankful though for a God
who offers me (and everyone) a fresh start, a clean slate, a new
beginning. Here is hoping that I listen more
to what God is trying to say to me, what He is urging me to do to serve others,
to draw them to Him, all in the name of love.
Thunder in the desert…
This refers to the name given to John the Baptist in Mathew
3:3 (The Message). John’s purpose was to prepare the hearts of men and women to
receive Jesus. It was Jesus who would bring the seed of salvation, of true life
and of freedom. I certainly don’t compare myself to John the Baptist but it is
my prayer that the few who observe me here will be drawn to the One who offers
living water (Rev 7:17) that can quench any thirst, even in this barren land.
